Wetland Invertebrate and Environmental Data 2010 Sampling Events

Latest version published by The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) on Aug 9, 2018 The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA)

Freshwater invertebrates collected semi-quantitatively from wetlands (e.g. bogs, fens, swamps) below an altitude of 250 m, and which are subject to a range of anthropogenic pressures (i.e. relatively pristine to heavily impacted). At the scale of each wetland, environmental information was collected; then, within each wetland an average of 3 (but up to 6) different water bodies (i.e. sites) were sampled with water quality parameters measured at each site; and at each site, two 'replicate' invertebrate samples were collected (i.e. A and B samples).

Data Records

The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 769 records. 2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.

  • Event (core)
    769
  • Occurrence
    15195
  • ExtendedMeasurementOrFact
    9935

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
